Homecoming Anniversary

Everyone get ready it will be an awesome and exciting time in the Lord during our second annual homecoming and anniversary! The Kinwood DeVore will be our speaker ankdd we will spend three days with the same "KNOWING  GOD". There are two main purposes and biblical reasons for having our Homecoming and Anniversary.

First we have an Anniversary to remember what God has done for us as a church. It's the same principle as found in Exodus 13:3, "And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten." it's important to celebrate what God has done and is doing.

Next we have a Homecoming to fellowship with Brothers and Sisters we haven't seen in a while and to encourage those members who have lost their way to come home. Hence the idea of calling it a "Homecoming". It gives people we love a non-threatening environment to reconnect with their church family. This idea comes from Luke 15:4-7 which encourages us to go after sheep who have strayed away. The Bible says, "Luke 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance."
